Up to 90% of pregnant women with suffer from nausea and vomiting in some form.
1-3% of pregnant women will suffer from Hyperemesis Gavidarum, the most severe form of sickness.
How is Pregnancy Sickness Classified?
The latest advice for doctors is that they should use the PUQE scale to classify pregnancy sickness, or NVP, and should not be testing your urine for ketones to diagnose severity.
The PUQE score test will put you into one of three categories:

Mild NVP
Generally defined as waves of nausea & vomiting, which usually eases after 12 weeks.

Moderate NVP
Persistent nausea and regular vomiting which may lead to weight loss.

Severe NVP (HG)
1-3% of NVP sufferer's will be classified as suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG).
Nausea and vomiting is life altering, and severely affects quality of life.
